If you have a National Park Annual Pass, don't forget
to bring it. Entry into Grand Teton NP/Yellowstone is around $20 for a one-week
pass into both parks. If you don't have an National Annual Pass, they only cost
$50 and are good at all national parks throughout the US for one year from the

Friday September 5
Meet in Centerville - 9:15 am
The driving tour will depart the International House of Pancakes in Centerville, Utah at 9:30 am. Centerville is just north of Bountiful on I-15, take Exit 322 and head east (right). The IHOP is on the right a few hundred yards off the freeway.
If you would like to enjoy a sitdown breakfast, come to the IHOP at 8:30am. Otherwise, just show at in the parking lot at 9:15. There is a gas station, some fast food restaruants, a Tommie's Donuts and other places to grab a quicker breakfast.
At 9:30am, we will head north on Hwy 89 to I-84. After a short sprint along the Weber River, we will catch Trapper's Loop to the Snow Basin Road, take the Snow Basin Road to UT-39 and then follow UT-39 over Monte Cristo Pass. After a stop in Laketown for some fresh fruit shakes, we will head up the little traveled east shore of Bear Lake and then head north on US 89 up the Snake River Valley to Jackson.
The tour will arrive in Jackson by late afternoon so everyone can freshen up before dinner.
Group Dinner in Jackson - 7:00pm
For those interested, the group will gather in the parking lot at 6:30pm for a group dinner at a local restaurant. You are also welcome to break off from the group and enjoy dinner on your own.
Saturday September 6
Day Tour - Yellowstone NP - 9:00am
The group will gather in the Cowboy Village parking lot at 9:00am for a day tour to Yellowstone National Park. We will depart at 9:00am, so be sure to grab some breakfast before then. There are several breakfast cafes, coffee houses and bagel shops near the hotel.
The group will head north past Grand Teton NP and drive along Hwy 89 to the south entrance of Yellowstone NP. We will drive west to Old Faithful and the Lodge, where we will have lunch. If time/interest permit, we will venture to see some of the popular geyser and paint pot features a bit further to the west. Mid-afternoon, we'll head back to the south entrance of Yellowstone and back into the town of Jackson.
Group Dinner in Jackson - 7:00pm
For those so inclined, the evening will likely include a trip to the Silver Dollar Saloon, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, or the Mangy Moose for late night festivities.
Sunday September 7
Grand Teton NP Tour - 9:00am
We will gather once again in the parking lot of Cowboy Village and take a short trip into Grand Teton NP. We'll take a trip up Signal Mountain for group photos and one of the most stunning views in the world. We'll head back into the town of Jackson at about 11:30 for a final fill-up and lunch before heading back to Salt Lake City.
We plan to be back in Utah early evening on Sunday evening. We will depart Jackson on WY-22 over Teton Pass into Victor, Idaho, take ID-31 to Swan Valley, and then catch US 26 south along Palisades Reservoir to US 89 south. We will head south on US 89 to Freedom, WY, where we will pick up ID-34 to Soda Springs, ID. We will briefly follow US 30 west from Soda Springs until we again pick up ID-34 south, which we will take to Logan, UT. From Logan, we will head south on US 89 to I-15. We drove this route to Jackson in 2002, and these are some great roads that are very lightly traveled, especially ID-34.
If you need to get back earlier, you can take Hwy 22 out of Jackson over Teton Pass, to Hwy 31 to Hwy 26 and into Idaho Falls. From there it's a straight shot south on I-15.
