Moab, Thanksgiving 2005

We had never been to Moab as a family, so we decided the long Thanksgiving weekend was a good time to go. It was the offseason, so Moab was relatively quite, although things picked up after Thanksgiving. We were only able to do a few things the two full days we were there because we had to spend a good part of Friday watching the Texas versus Texas A&M game. We were able to visit Dead Horse Point State Park, which has one of the most famous overlooks in the Moab area, and we also visited part of Canyonlands. We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Red Cliff Lodge, which sits directly on the Colorado River about 15 miles northeast of Moab. We had a good time hiking around and goofing around. Moab is close enough to Salt Lake City that we can easily drive down for a long weekend, so we will go down again sometime to hike around in Arches National Park and visit other areas in Canyonlands NP.
