Kathryn A. Cañas, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor (Lecturer) at the David Eccles School of Business. She earned a BA in English and Speech Communication at Boston College; an MA in Speech Communication at Indiana University (Bloomington) with emphases in rhetorical studies/theory and American public address; and a Ph.D. in Speech Communication at the University of Utah with emphases in rhetorical studies/theory, pedagogy, diversity, and American public address.

Dr. Cañas' primary teaching responsibilities include: MGT 5810, Managing Diversity In Organizations; MGT 4810, Business & Professional Communication; MGT 6052, Business Communication; FINAN 6850, Finance Career Development; and MGT 7300, Effective Teaching Practices and Theories. Dr. Cañas also teaches the executive workshop, The Articulate Executive: Mastering High-Impact Communication Skills. Dr Cañas is the author of Opportunities and Challenges of Workplace Diversity: Theory, Cases, and Exercises (Pearson/Prentice Hall: 2008) (2nd edition in press).
